Coahuila economic growth requires strategic revision

Coahuila requires a revised economic growth strategy to address rising costs of living, urban expansion, and an increasing working-age population. Analysis from the center ‘México, ¿cómo vamos?’ suggests the state's GDP needs to grow by at least 4% annually, a rate significantly higher than recent figures.

To achieve this, experts highlight a triad of necessary elements: reducing labor informality, increasing productivity, and boosting investment. According to the 2025 State Competitiveness Index by IMCO, Coahuila holds a strong position, ranking first among states for having the lowest labor informality rate at 35%.
