Coahuila electoral authority reports complaints, package deliveries and electronic voting rollout
The Instituto Electoral de Coahuila (IEC) has registered 101 procedural complaints related to the current election, including 89 special sanction procedures for alleged campaign violations and 10 cases of gender‑based political violence. Most remain under investigation pending tribunal resolution.
The IEC also confirmed the completion of electoral material distribution across the state's 16 districts without incidents, coordinated with state and municipal police. District 05 completed its final package delivery, while District 03 received 289 packages, ensuring all local ballot boxes are in place.
The National Electoral Institute (INE) will install 60 electronic voting machines on a pilot basis in 15 special polling stations across municipalities such as Piedras Negras, Monclova, Saltillo and Torreón. In total, 4,256 polling stations will operate in Coahuila, with the special stations using electronic urns that print a ticket as proof of vote.
