Coahuila government programs offer subsidized housing materials

Various government programs in Coahuila, Mexico, are providing subsidized construction and maintenance materials to assist local families with housing improvements and climate protection.

In the Central Region, the Mejora Coahuila program, directed by Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, is offering cement at discounts of 60 to 70 percent. The initiative also provides paint, waterproofing materials, and subsidized inverter air conditioning units priced at 4,600 pesos to combat extreme temperatures. These efforts are being coordinated with local mayors in Monclova, Frontera, Castaños, and surrounding rural communities.

In Torreón, Mayor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís has implemented a waterproofing program that has benefited over 40,000 residents. The program offers 15-liter buckets of waterproofing material for 200 pesos to help prevent home damage during the rainy season. This initiative has reached more than 80 neighborhoods and rural areas, including Ana, El Tajito, Ignacio Allende, La Concha, La Joya, La Paz, Los Arenales, and Zaragoza.
