Coahuila Governor announces airport expansion and new flight routes

Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas announced plans to expand air connectivity at the Plan de Guadalupe International Airport in Ramos Arizpe. A new flight to Guadalajara is expected to launch in December as part of a gradual increase in operations. The state is also exploring additional destinations, including increased frequencies to Mexico City and potential connections to tourist hubs such as Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos.

Jiménez noted that current flights are seeing high occupancy rates, with an estimated 20% to 30% of passengers originating from the neighboring state of Nuevo León. The expansion is supported by an alliance between the state government and airline partners to continue investing in the region's aviation infrastructure.

Additionally, the Governor highlighted the success of the Ramos Fest 2026, noting that the cultural and recreational events reflect the security and stability of the region. He also expressed high expectations for the upcoming Rodeo Saltillo, scheduled for October 15–18, which aims to become a major national and international event due to new infrastructure developments.
