Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas urges unity after decisive state election

Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas said the recent legislative election in Coahuila was conducted peacefully, noting a 51 % voter turnout – more than 1.25 million citizens – and describing it as “a great democratic party”. The Alliance Ciudadana por la Seguridad, composed of the PRI and UDC, secured roughly 700,000 votes (about 58 % of the total), while the runner‑up received around 330,000 votes.

Jiménez Salinas thanked the 700,000 voters who “reaffirmed our government”, praised the election’s tranquility, and dismissed allegations of irregularities, calling them “total lies”. He announced that, for the time being, no changes to his cabinet are planned and that the administration will continue with its existing structure. Emphasising the public’s desire for “unity, teamwork, results and a calm climate”, he called all political forces to set aside partisan disputes and work together for the state’s development.

He also highlighted cooperation between state and federal security authorities, stating that minor incidents were promptly addressed and that the election proceeded without serious problems.
