Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas urges completion of Agua Saludable water project for La Laguna

Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas of Coahuila said the Agua Saludable project for the La Laguna region must be finished as a priority to secure water supply for municipal systems. He emphasized completing the original phase so water reaches the designated tanks, after which a second stage will extend branches to colonies, neighborhoods and ejidos.

The governor noted that many localities suffer not only from limited flow but also from leaks caused by deteriorating municipal networks, reducing service efficiency. He pledged continued state investment in hydraulic infrastructure and expressed willingness to coordinate budgeting with the federal government to advance pending works. While a proposal exists to create an inter‑state water operator, Jiménez Salinas said no concrete steps have been taken yet and a financial analysis is needed to ensure viability without imposing extra costs on municipalities or families.
