Coahuila Governor presents state security model to Mexican Senate

Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas presented the ‘Coahuila Security Model’ to the Mexican Senate during a seminar focused on strategic challenges, cybersecurity, and international cooperation. The strategy, which has been developed over approximately 15 years, relies on coordination between various levels of government, security forces, and civil society.

Key pillars of the model include prevention, proximity, intelligence, and force. The administration has increased investment in cybersecurity and technology to protect government databases and prevent digital crimes such as extortion, fraud, and identity theft. Additionally, the governor highlighted the expansion of video surveillance networks into remote areas and strengthened coordination with authorities in Texas and the United States regarding border security.

In related developments, Governor Jiménez Salinas noted that INEGI has ranked Coahuila as the safest state in Mexico. The governor also highlighted several social and infrastructure initiatives, including the ‘En Equipo Le Entramos’ program, which involves investing over three billion pesos in urban improvements such as paving, water, and drainage across various municipalities.
