Coahuila Governor's Youth Drug Prevention Initiative Reaches 20,000 Participants
More than 20,000 young people have taken part in preventive security conferences organized under the state strategy “A Coahuila lo Cuidamos Todos.” The program, overseen by Coahuila Attorney General Federico Fernández Montañez and directed by Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, aims to raise awareness of the risks and consequences of drug use through interactive talks in schools.
At a recent session held at the Universidad Pablo Freire in Saltillo, law‑enforcement officials from the state police, municipal police, the Strategic Operations Center Against Small‑Scale Drug Trafficking, and the Southeast Prosecutor’s Office presented information designed to dispel myths about drugs and promote a culture of prevention. The initiative reflects coordinated inter‑agency effort to protect families and reinforce the region’s peace and security.
The campaign is part of a broader effort by the Coahuila government to embed preventive education within the school system and engage youth directly in community safety messages.
