Coahuila Health System Reaches Over 85% Drug Supply
The government of the Mexican state of Coahuila announced that its public health system now maintains a medication stock level of more than 85 percent, a figure described as one of the highest ever recorded for the entity. Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas said the result stems from a strategy to strengthen health services by improving procurement, distribution and inventory monitoring. Health Secretary Eliud Aguirre Vázquez added that constant availability allows patients to receive complete prescriptions at hospitals, clinics and medical units without needing to purchase medicines themselves, reducing out‑of‑pocket costs and ensuring treatment continuity across the state.
The authorities emphasized ongoing monitoring of inventories to sustain the supply of essential drugs and to respond promptly to local health needs.
