Coahuila initiates electoral blindaje in Ramos Arizpe ahead of voting
On Friday, 5 June 2026, the state of Coahuila launched an electoral blindaje operation in the municipality of Ramos Arizpe. The measure, overseen by the municipal Electoral Blindaje Committee composed of municipal controller Lilia Gabriela Muñoz García and three citizen members, follows guidelines issued by the State Secretariat of Oversight and Accountability (SEFIRC).
The operation includes sealing government buildings, placing seals on doors and parking accesses, and taping and securing roughly 100 municipal vehicles, except those needed for essential services such as security, civil protection, patrols, and ambulances. Emergency and essential services continue to operate normally. The process is documented in official acts uploaded to SEFIRC’s electronic platform for transparency. Similar procedures are being carried out in all 38 municipalities of Coahuila under municipal audit supervision. Seals and tapes will be removed on Monday, 8 June, at 9 a.m., concluding the blindaje phase before the local election weekend.
