Coahuila prepares security deployment for June 7 state elections

Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas chaired the State Coordination Table for Peace and Security in Coahuila, reviewing May security indicators and outlining actions for the June 7 election. The meeting confirmed that Coahuila’s security forces rank among the nation’s best, according to the INEGI ENSU survey, and detailed a coordinated plan involving the Army, National Guard, Navy, state and federal prosecutors, as well as representatives from the state government, legislature and judiciary.

For the June 7 vote, 25 local deputies will be elected to the state congress. A total of 379 candidates and two independents will compete for 16 majority‑relative seats and nine proportional seats. Approximately 2.5 million citizens are expected to vote at 4,275 polling stations across the state, under the joint security and civil‑protection framework outlined by the meeting.
