Coahuila prepares special security operations for June 7 election

Ahead of the June 7 municipal elections, the state of Coahuila will implement a special surveillance operation in Torreón, enforcing a temporary ‘dry law’ that bans the sale, distribution and consumption of alcoholic beverages from midnight on Saturday, June 6 until midnight on Sunday, June 7. The operation involves coordinated checks by the State Government, municipal inspection and verification directorates, and public security forces, with penalties including possible closure of establishments that violate the restriction.

Municipal authorities in Ramos Arizpe have also announced that preventive patrols and security monitoring are ready for the election day. The city’s public security directorate will conduct regular patrols, cooperate with other security bodies, and urge citizens to respect electoral regulations, plan travel to polling stations, follow official traffic signage and use official information channels. A 911 emergency line is available for reporting any incidents that require immediate attention.
