Mexico regional updates: Coahuila investments and security trends
Various regional developments are occurring across Mexico. In Coahuila, Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas announced a 3 billion peso investment for infrastructure and services across 38 municipalities. Additionally, the state is hosting a national meeting to coordinate the conservation of the Monarch butterfly migratory route. Security trends in Coahuila show a significant decrease in perceived insecurity according to INEGI data, while the state finance secretary confirmed no new taxes will be introduced in the 2027 budget.
In Saltillo, municipal authorities have suspended eight irregular constructions in the Sierra de Zapalinamé ecological conservation zone to ensure orderly urban growth. Meanwhile, in Nuevo León, Governor Samuel García reported an 11-year low in cargo transport robberies, noting only 48 cases in the first eight months of the year.
In Jalisco, the government allocated over 37 million pesos to support agricultural producers in the South-Southeast and Lagunas regions.
