Coahuila implements new social programs and highway police
Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas has launched a new phase of the ‘Huevo, Leche y Despensón’ food assistance program in Coahuila, aimed at delivering basic basket products to families in need. This initiative is part of a broader social strategy that includes health brigades, support for seniors and people with disabilities, and social infrastructure projects.
In addition to food aid, the administration announced a forthcoming public services program involving an investment of over 3 billion pesos, to be implemented in coordination with the state's 38 municipalities.
On the security front, State Attorney General Federico Fernández Montañez announced the creation of a new State Highway Police division. This unit will focus on surveillance and incident response on both federal and state highways, specifically targeting high-traffic areas like the Los Chorros stretch to improve coordination between municipal, state, and federal forces.
