Coahuila receives GM electric vehicle donation and Waelzholz investment
Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas announced two major developments in Ramos Arizpe involving private sector partnerships. General Motors has donated three Chevrolet Brightdrop 600 electric vehicles to support social welfare programs. These units are designated for use by DIF Coahuila, Inspira Coahuila, and DIF Ramos Arizpe to assist local communities, neighborhoods, and rural areas.
Additionally, the company Waelzholz has broken ground on its first manufacturing plant in Mexico. The project in Ramos Arizpe represents an investment of more than one billion pesos. Governor Jiménez highlighted Coahuila’s position as Mexico’s leading producer of vehicles and auto parts, attributing this success to long-standing industrial presence and a skilled workforce.
