Coahuila reinforces border security with new military barracks

Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas has announced a reinforcement of security infrastructure along the state's 500-kilometer border. As part of this strategy, a new Mexican Army barracks was delivered in the La Linda ejido, and construction was supervised for a new National Guard barracks in the Venustiano Carranza ejido, both located in Ciudad Acuña.

The two projects represent an investment exceeding 27 million pesos. These facilities are intended to strengthen surveillance in strategic areas near the borders of Texas and Chihuahua.

Governor Jiménez Salinas stated that his administration has delivered or is currently constructing 18 security barracks across the state, including facilities for state corporations, the Army, the Navy, and the National Guard. The broader security plan also includes five security checkpoints and the Integral Center for Security and Citizen Protection for the Central-Desert Region, aimed at maintaining security indicators through coordination with federal forces and binational authorities.
