Coahuila senior‑citizen pageants crown new queens in Frontera and Saltillo

Mayor Sari Pérez Cantú led the traditional lottery in Frontera, Coahuila, to select the new Reina del Adulto Mayor. Sandra Josefina Ponce was elected queen, with Olga García as princess and Araceli Rodríguez as duchess. The ceremony, part of the August festivities, highlights the municipality’s commitment to honor its senior residents and preserve local tradition.

In Saltillo, Coahuila, María de los Ángeles Zúñiga Escobedo was crowned Reina del DIF Saltillo 2026, succeeding Margarita Oropeza López. The event, held during the Adult Senior Month, was attended by Mayor Javier Díaz González and DIF president Luly López Naranjo. The DIF highlighted its ongoing programs for older adults, including an intergenerational center and 24 community groups that provide health, social and safety activities for seniors.
