Coahuila strengthens forest fire brigade professionalization

The Coahuila Ministry of Environment, in coordination with the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), is implementing a professionalization program for forest fire brigades. The initiative focuses on continuous training through specialized courses, such as S-130 Forest Fighter and S-190 Introduction to Fire Behavior, to ensure personnel safety and combat effectiveness.

Under the administration of Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, more than 50 million pesos have been allocated to forest fire prevention and combat. The current training phase involves 160 brigadiers from various regions, including Saltillo, Múzquiz, Arteaga, Zaragoza, Acuña, and Cuatro Ciénegas. Initial sessions are being held simultaneously in Saltillo and Múzquiz to strengthen the readiness of emergency response teams.
