Coahuila's 'Mujeres Echadas Pa’delante' program graduates 3,750 women from high school

In the first three years of Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas' administration, the state of Coahuila reported that more than 3,750 women completed their high‑school studies through the Mujeres Echadas Pa’delante initiative. Beneficiaries received tuition scholarships, free academic and psychological counseling, and job‑placement services coordinated by Inspira Coahuila, the state Secretariat of Education, the Secretariat of Women and private partners.

For the 2025‑2026 school cycle 984 new participants enrolled, while 1,561 women continue in the open‑high‑school program, including 28 women detained in social‑reintegration centers. The programme also offers higher‑education pathways, featuring 13 university careers (nine licences and four engineering degrees). A March 2026 call for university scholarships awarded 528 women, bringing the total active enrolment to over 4,300 students, of whom 31 are incarcerated women.

The government says the effort aims to improve personal, economic and professional prospects for women across municipalities such as Acuña, Monclova, Ramos Arizpe, San Pedro and Parras, and to foster broader community development.
