Coalición Cívica to denounce Argentine judges over Milei $Libra ruling
The Coalición Cívica political party announced plans to file complaints against federal judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi and prosecutor Eduardo Taiano following the dismissal of charges against President Javier Milei and his sister, Karina Milei, in the $Libra cryptocurrency case.
National Deputy Maximiliano Ferraro, who led the Chamber of Deputies' investigative commission on the matter, characterized the dismissal as a “shameful ruling” designed to ensure impunity for the President and his inner circle. Ferraro alleged that the judicial officials rushed to close the case without summoning witnesses or completing pending evidentiary measures, despite the investigation having lasted over a year and a half.
The $Libra case stems from a cryptocurrency promoted by the President in February 2025, which saw its value plummet shortly after he deleted a related social media post. Ferraro specifically questioned the lack of transparency regarding certain contract details and accused the judiciary of a “crude judicial operation” to shield the Executive branch from accountability.
