Coalición Sindical protests in Caracas demanding inclusion in political dialogues
Members of the Coalición Sindical, comprising workers, retirees, and pensioners, staged a protest in Caracas in front of the Gran Meliá Hotel. The demonstration aimed to demand inclusion in the ongoing political dialogue meetings held at the venue between representatives of the 2015 National Assembly, led by Dinorah Figuera, and government officials.
The protesters blocked traffic on Casanova Avenue and presented a list of demands, including the release of political prisoners, the inclusion of labor issues such as wages and dignified pensions in negotiations, and a transition board to accelerate electoral processes. They also rejected current bonus payments, describing them as insufficient.
State security forces, including the Bolivarian National Police, deployed shields, barriers, and an armored vehicle to prevent protesters from entering the hotel. The mobilization originated from a march starting at Plaza Brión in Chacaito.
