Coalition Avenir Québec holds campaign events in Gatineau and Laval

Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) candidates and leadership held campaign events in Gatineau and Laval as the party prepares for the 2026 provincial elections.

In Gatineau, candidate William Robertson outlined his priorities, including addressing the cost of living, housing, healthcare, and infrastructure projects such as the Hull hospital and the Highway 5 extension. His event was met with protests from approximately 70 paramedics who were criticizing the provincial government over unresolved contract negotiations.

In Laval, CAQ leader Christine Fréchette met with supporters and candidates. During her speech, Fréchette emphasized commitments to financial frameworks, parental leave improvements, expanding private healthcare options to reduce wait times, and protecting the French language. She also pledged increased support for seniors, victims of violence, and families with children with disabilities.
