Coalition of Unemployed Graduates with Disabilities to picket at Jubilee House

The Coalition of Unemployed Graduates with Disabilities is staging a peaceful protest at Jubilee House to demand the implementation of a 5% recruitment quota for persons with disabilities in the public sector.

Coalition convenor Gilbert Boateng Agyare stated that the group is seeking between 400 and 500 financial clearances from the Ministry of Finance to allow qualified members to be deployed to various government institutions. The group highlighted a recent recruitment exercise by the Ghana Education Service (GES), noting that despite submitting a verified list of 200 qualified graduates with disabilities, none were employed.

The protesters argue that the government has failed to fulfill its legal obligations and promises regarding employment inclusion, leaving many qualified individuals facing financial hardship despite their academic credentials.
