Crotone authorities conduct interforce operation targeting illegal activities

Authorities in Crotone conducted a large-scale interforce operation as part of the national and transnational “Focus 'Ndrangheta” plan. The operation involved the State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Coast Guard, and Local Police to monitor commercial activities, vehicles, and individuals.

During the inspections, officials seized 7.5 kilograms of seafood lacking required traceability documentation from a beach establishment, resulting in a 2,000 euro fine. The operation also identified 504 people, 90 of whom had prior records, and checked 275 vehicles. Total administrative sanctions amounted to approximately 8,000 euros.

Additional findings by the Highway Police included a vehicle rental business with a fictitious registered office, a dealership that had ceased operations months ago, and a commercial center officially listed for vehicle sales that was actually operating as a sports center. Further investigations are ongoing to address these administrative irregularities.
