Coast Guard intercepts vessel with 20 tons of undocumented fertilizer

The Coast Guard Region 3 Command intercepted an inland waterway vessel, identified as KG-58069, transporting nearly 20 tons of fertilizer of unknown origin. The vessel was detected during a patrol approximately 70 nautical miles northwest of Con Dao on August 10.

Upon inspection, the seven crew members were unable to provide invoices or documentation to prove the legal origin or legitimacy of the cargo. The captain, Nguyen Huu Nghia, admitted to transporting the fertilizer but lacked the required paperwork. Authorities have seized the vessel and the entire shipment, moving them to Hai Doi 301 Port in Ho Chi Minh City for further investigation and legal processing.
