Coastal attractions in Lloret de Mar and Tarragona

The Costa Brava and Tarragona regions in Spain offer diverse coastal attractions ranging from historic gardens to secluded beaches.

In Lloret de Mar, the Jardines de Santa Clotilde stand out as a significant example of Catalan Novecentismo gardening. Designed by Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí in the early 20th century, the gardens are situated on a cliffside between Fenals Beach and Cala Boadella, featuring cypress trees, fountains, and marble sculptures. Other notable sites in the area include Sa Caleta and the Castillo d’en Plaja.

In the Tarragona area, Cala Calafat in L’Ametlla de Mar provides a quieter alternative for beachgoers. The cove is approximately 100 meters long and 40 meters wide, characterized by turquoise waters and natural rock barriers that create calm conditions suitable for snorkeling and paddle surfing. The location is near the Calafat sports port, offering access to various water activities such as sailing and diving.
