Coastal landscapes of Brittany and the Guérande Peninsula
The coastal regions of Brittany and the Guérande Peninsula offer diverse natural and historical landscapes. In the Guérande Peninsula, the ‘Côte sauvage’ stretches approximately 14 kilometers from Le Croisic to the Penchâteau point, passing through Batz-sur-Mer and Le Pouliguen. This rocky coastline features cliffs, coves, and beaches, with a coastal path allowing visitors to observe the Atlantic waves and local biodiversity.
In Lower Brittany, the landscape transitions from the medieval city of Vannes to Brest. Vannes, situated at the end of the Gulf of Morbihan, is characterized by its 15th-century walled city, cobblestone streets, and timber-framed houses. The region includes the Morbihan Gulf, an archipelago of islands such as Île-aux-Moines, which features prehistoric megaliths, pine forests, and pedestrian trails.
