Coastal projects commence in Spain

Construction has begun on the Alovera Beach urban complex in Spain following nine years of administrative procedures. The project, which involves an investment of over 29 million euros, is expected to be completed by March 2028 with an opening scheduled for the summer of 2028. The facility will feature 21,000 square meters of water and 16,000 square meters of white sand, offering leisure activities, sports, and dining. The development is projected to create approximately 150 direct and indirect jobs.

In Málaga, the Directorate General of the Coast and the Sea has commissioned a restoration project for Arraijanal beach. The contract, awarded to Ingeniería y Estudios Mediterráneo, aims to draft a plan to recover dune systems at the mouth of the Guadalhorce River. The area has been losing more than five meters of coastline annually due to erosion and reduced sand deposits. The project will focus on restoring dune ridges, removing infrastructure that disrupts coastal dynamics, and creating pedestrian and cycling paths.
