Coatepec submits documentation to retain Pueblo Mágico status
The municipality of Coatepec, Veracruz, has submitted the necessary technical documentation to the Secretariat of Tourism to maintain its status as a ‘Pueblo Mágico’. Mayor Jorge Ignacio Luna Hernández confirmed that the municipal administration completed the filing on September 30, meeting all established requirements for evaluation.
As the first municipality in the state of Veracruz to receive this distinction, Coatepec is recognized for its colonial architecture, coffee production, gastronomy, and cloud forest landscapes. The town features significant historical sites, including the San Jerónimo Parish, dating back to 1684, and the Miguel Hidalgo Park.
The preservation of this title is seen as a commitment to maintaining the cultural and touristic identity that defines the region, which is also known as Mexico’s coffee capital.
