Coatzacoalcos bee attacks leave seven injured in Veracruz

A series of bee attacks in Veracruz has resulted in multiple injuries over the past month. The most recent incident occurred on October 15 in central Coatzacoalcos, where seven people were injured after a bus disturbed a large hive located in a tree. Among the victims was a minor reported to be in delicate health.

This follows previous incidents in the region, including an attack in Las Barrillas on September 22 that affected at least 10 tourists and killed two dogs, and an incident in La Pochota where a truck caused a hive to fall.

In response, Protección Civil has issued safety recommendations, including wearing light-colored long-sleeved clothing, avoiding scented products, and keeping food and sugary drinks covered. Authorities also advised citizens to avoid approaching hives and to move away slowly if approached by bees.
