Coatzacoalcos citrus vendor shot and killed in Ciudad Olmeca

A citrus vendor was fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon while working at his street stall in the Ciudad Olmeca neighborhood of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. The attack occurred around 4:20 PM on the road toward Las Barrillas, near the Los Olmecas boulevard.

Witnesses reported that armed individuals on a green motorcycle fired at least four shots at the victim before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders and Civil Protection personnel arrived at the location, but they determined the man had already passed away due to a lethal gunshot wound.

The area was cordoned off by the State Police, Municipal Police, and the Mexican Army to allow forensic experts from the State Attorney General's Office to collect evidence and process the scene. The victim's body was transported to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo). Authorities have opened an investigation, though no suspects have been detained and the motive remains unknown.
