Coatzacoalcos hosts urban regeneration symposium

The Second Urbanism and Architecture Symposium, ‘Coatza Regenera 2026’, is scheduled to take place on October 9 and 10 at the Holiday Inn in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. Organized by the Colegio de Arquitectos de Coatzacoalcos (COARQ), the event aims to gather specialists, students, and academic institutions to propose ideas for the city's urban regeneration.

A central component of the initiative is ‘Distrito Coatza’, an urban laboratory covering a nine-block polygon ranging from the riverbank to Morelos Avenue, and from Zaragoza Avenue to Malpica. The symposium features experts such as district regeneration specialist Benito Sotelo, contemporary architecture figure Abraham Cota Paredes, and Edmundo Zugasti from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

The event is supported by the municipal government under Mayor Pedro Miguel Rosaldo García, along with various professional colleges and business organizations. Attendance is limited to 400 participants.
