Veracruz implements infrastructure and economic development initiatives

Various regional development initiatives are underway in Veracruz, Mexico, focusing on infrastructure, investment attraction, and economic restructuring.

In Atlahuilco, state officials delivered the 2-kilometer Zihuateo-Ocotlajapa road section. The project features hydraulic concrete, drainage, and retaining walls to improve local safety and circulation.

In Coatzacoalcos, the municipal government and the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) are implementing strategies to attract private investment. These efforts highlight the operational status of Welfare Development Poles (PODEBI) and new commercial appraisals designed to reduce land acquisition and rental costs for businesses.

Additionally, business leaders in Boca del Río, including representatives from COPARMEX, have introduced a project to transform the state's economic model. The initiative aims to shift Veracruz from a low-cost raw material exporter to a high-volume, high-sophistication producer, adding value to local resources such as coffee, fruit, oil, and steel.
