Cobach initiates teacher salary equalization process in Chiapas
Viridiana Figueroa García, Director General of the Colegio de Bachilleres de Chiapas (Cobach), is leading the development of a formal call for the salary equalization and re-leveling process for teaching staff. This initiative follows recent announcements by the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) and adheres to the operational rules established by the Subsecretariat of Higher Secondary Education (SEMS).
The process is supported by 300 million pesos allocated nationally by SEMS to ensure continuity in salary payments for state-level higher secondary education subsystems. To maintain transparency, a judging commission will be formed, consisting of one representative from the General Directorate and three professors elected by the union.
In a separate event, Cobach celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Tuxtla Sur Campus 145. Since beginning operations in 2006 with limited facilities and staff, the campus has grown to include its own infrastructure and has educated thousands of students in the state of Chiapas.
