Cobach student reports alleged teacher bullying in Hermosillo

The family of Jesús Tadeo Leal, a student with a visual disability at the Cobach Plantel VII in Hermosillo, has reported alleged bullying and discrimination by a teacher. The allegations gained attention on social media after a video showed the student and his mother expressing distress over verbal aggressions. The family claims the teacher made mocking comments regarding the student's disability, leading to ridicule from classmates, and that some instructors have refused to accept his schoolwork.

In response, the State Human Rights Commission (CEDH) has called for a resolution through dialogue rather than public confrontation on social media. Cervando Flores Castelo, president of the CEDH, stated that the commission will monitor the situation to ensure the student has the necessary conditions for his education.

To resolve the conflict, the student has decided to continue his studies at a different campus with support from the Secretariat of Education and Culture. The CEDH plans to work with Cobach to conduct sensitization activities for teachers, students, and parents regarding inclusion, inclusive language, and reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities.
