Cobaeh expands pollinator garden project in Hidalgo

The Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Hidalgo (Cobaeh) is incorporating 29 educational centers into the third stage of its pollinator garden construction project. This initiative, part of the ‘Guardians of Biodiversity’ program, aims to conserve native species and recover local ecosystems by using native flora to attract insects, birds, and other pollinators.

Developed in coordination with the State Biodiversity Commission of Hidalgo (COESBIOH), the project involves teachers, administrative staff, students, and parents to promote environmental awareness. The 29 new sites span the five zones of the school subsystem and the Central Directorate, where the Institute of Construction Technology will assist in design and construction.

Cobaeh has set a goal to establish 100 pollinator gardens by 2028, covering approximately one hectare dedicated to the conservation of local flora and fauna. Director General Rubén López Valdez emphasized the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations.
