Sinaloa State Congress approves LGBTTTIQ+ rights law and 16 initiatives
The Sinaloa State Congress has approved several legislative measures, most notably the Law for the Recognition, Protection, and Care of LGBTTTIQ+, Sexual Diversity, and Gender Persons. This law, passed with 31 votes in favor, establishes mechanisms for state and municipal authorities to guarantee human rights and freedoms for the LGBTTTIQ+ community.
Additionally, the Commission of Protocol and Organic Regime approved 16 different initiative projects. These include proposals to strengthen ecological ordering, modernize electronic government laws, and establish professional requirements for the head of the Sinaloa Institute of Physical Culture and Sport. Other approved measures involve providing monthly remuneration for medical and nursing students during social service and incorporating ‘shadow teachers’ to support students with autism.
