Cobán: One minor dies after two children fall into Cahabón River

Two minors fell into the Cahabón River in the Puente Chicoj sector of Cobán, Alta Verapaz. Emergency responders, including the Volunteer Firefighters of the 36th Company, the Guatemalan Red Cross, and the National Civil Police, conducted a search and rescue operation lasting approximately 120 minutes.

One minor was successfully rescued and transported to a hospital. However, the body of a second minor, approximately 13 years old, was recovered from the bottom of the river.
