Cobrafuma band releases second album ‘Droga Total’

The Porto-based band Cobrafuma is releasing its second album, ‘Droga Total’, this Friday. Guitarist and vocalist José Roberto Gomes describes the new work as faster and more aggressive than their debut, comparing the sound to a heavy motorcycle rather than a ride.

The seven-song album serves as a social commentary on the current state of the world, addressing themes of injustice, abuse of power, and the rise of the far-right. Specific tracks include ‘Trabalho’, which examines labor conditions, and ‘Meninos das Tochas’, which critiques far-right ideologies. The band notes that the lyrics have become more direct and urgent as a reaction to global societal shifts occurring between 2023 and 2025.
