Cobreloa appoints Mario Salas as new head coach

Cobreloa has officially confirmed the hiring of Mario Salas as the new head coach to lead the team through the final stretch of the Primera B season. Salas is expected to arrive in Calama to formalize his appointment and begin working with the squad immediately.

Salas will be supported by a technical staff including Patricio Lira as assistant coach, Marcelo Rosenblatt as physical trainer, and Javier Rodríguez as goalkeeper coach. The club's primary objective is to secure promotion to the Primera División, either through a direct championship or via the playoffs.

Cobreloa President Harry Robledo stated that any decision regarding Salas's continuity beyond the current season will depend on the team's performance and the results achieved in the coming weeks. The appointment follows the departure of former coach César Bravo. Salas is scheduled to make his debut on the sidelines on September 22 during a Copa Chile match against Coquimbo Unido.
