Coby White to miss NBA preseason with calf strain
Charlotte Hornets point guard Coby White will miss the entire preseason due to a left calf strain sustained during training camp. The team has not yet provided a timeline for his return, and his availability for the regular season opener on October 21 against Brooklyn remains uncertain. White, who recently signed a three-year, $74 million deal, was expected to take over the starting point guard role following the trade of LaMelo Ball.
Other injury updates include Charlotte players Kon Knueppel and Grant Williams, who are dealing with hamstring issues and will be reevaluated during the first week of the regular season.
In other NBA news, Washington Wizards player Alex Sarr has returned to full practice following foot surgery in June. While he participated in five-on-five contact drills, coach Brian Keefe noted that Sarr is still in a ramp-up phase. Additionally, Chicago Bulls center Nic Claxton is expected to miss the preseason after tweaking his hamstring; he will be reevaluated in at least two weeks.
