Coca-Cola appoints Rob Gehring to lead North American operations

Coca-Cola has appointed Rob Gehring to lead its North American operations, effective December 1. Gehring, who currently heads the Americas business for Monster Energy, transitions to the role as the beverage giant seeks to maintain growth amid economic pressures on U.S. consumers, such as rising gas and grocery prices.

Gehring brings significant industry experience, having previously served as CEO of Swire Coca-Cola USA. His appointment comes as Coca-Cola expands its portfolio beyond traditional sodas into categories like refreshers and ‘dirty sodas.’

In its second quarter, Coca-Cola reported a 7% growth in net sales, with North American volume increasing by 3%. In contrast, Monster Energy reported a 20% net sales growth during the same period, driven by innovation in the energy drink sector.
