Coca-Cola considers renewed sale of Costa Coffee

Coca-Cola is reportedly considering a new attempt to sell its British coffeehouse chain, Costa Coffee. This follows a previous sales process earlier this year that stalled after offers from private equity firms failed to meet expectations. At least one strategic buyer reportedly declined to proceed due to valuation and strategic concerns.

Coca-Cola acquired Costa Coffee in 2018 for approximately $5.1 billion as part of a strategy to expand into the hot beverage and healthier drink markets. The company has not officially confirmed the new sale plans.

Separately, Coca-Cola is focusing on its core refreshment business, with plans to launch new products such as Coca-Cola Cherry Lime and Coca-Cola Strawberry Float in 2027. The company is also testing regional sugar-free variants of Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Fresca that include prebiotic fiber.
