Coca-Cola pauses personalized product orders due to moderation filter errors

Coca-Cola has paused new orders for its personalized ‘Share a Coke’ products following reports of significant failures in its automated content moderation filter. The tool, designed to block political, religious, and inappropriate language, has faced backlash for inconsistent enforcement.

Reports and viral videos suggest the system rejected Christian phrases such as ‘Jesus is Lord’ or ‘Jesus is King,’ while allegedly allowing other controversial or religious terms to pass through the preview stage. Some claims suggested the tool permitted phrases like ‘Satan is good,’ though some fact-checking efforts noted that the service was largely unavailable or showing ‘out of stock’ messages during testing.

A company spokesperson attributed the issues to a system glitch and confirmed that the personalization tool has been turned off while the company works to resolve the problem.
