Coca-Cola sees institutional investment amid valuation debates

The Coca-Cola Company is seeing varied activity from institutional investors and analysts. Denkapparat Operations GmbH recently purchased 14,468 shares valued at approximately $1.18 million during the second quarter. Other institutional movements include Anfield Capital Management LLC and Evolution Wealth Management Inc. increasing their holdings, while EVP Nancy Quan sold 50,000 shares in August to cover tax withholding obligations.

From a valuation perspective, some analysts suggest caution regarding the current stock price of $88. At this level, Coca-Cola carries a P/E ratio of 27, which is higher than competitor PepsiCo’s multiple of 18. Additionally, PepsiCo offers a higher dividend yield of nearly 4.2% compared to Coca-Cola’s approximately 2.4%.

Despite these valuation concerns, Berkshire Hathaway continues to hold a significant 9.3% stake in the company. Although Warren Buffett has not added to this position since 1994, the holding is expected to generate $848 million in dividend income this year alone.
