Cocaine dealer arrested at Naples hospital; woman caught throwing safe‑deposit box in Varcaturo

A 52‑year‑old man known to police was stopped by Carabinieri in the parking area of the San Paolo Hospital emergency department in Fuorigrotta, Naples. After observing him exchange a €50 note for a small packet of cocaine, officers detained him and placed him under house arrest pending trial.

In Varcaturo, a 46‑year‑old woman tried to destroy evidence during a drug‑raiding operation by hurling a small safe‑deposit box from her balcony. A Carabiniere stationed outside retrieved the box, which contained 14 pre‑packaged cocaine doses, an additional 12 g of the substance, a precision scale and other paraphernalia. Police also found ammunition and a blank pistol in the home. The woman and her 41‑year‑old husband were charged with drug‑trafficking and illegal possession of ammunition.
