Cocaine seized at Italy’s Civitavecchia port and on bus to Cassino
Italian law‑enforcement agencies seized more than 23 kg of high‑purity cocaine hidden in a double‑bottom of a car that arrived from Barcelona at the port of Civitavecchia. A German national was arrested and the vehicle, a smartphone and €1,000 in cash were confiscated.
In a separate operation, the Guardia di Finanza in Cassino intercepted a young Moroccan woman on a Naples‑to‑Cassino bus after a drug‑sniffing dog detected a plastic bag containing about 210 g of cocaine. The woman was arrested and placed under house arrest.
Both seizures were part of coordinated checks on passenger and vehicle traffic aimed at disrupting international drug trafficking routes through Italy.
