Cocemfe expands disability inclusion and caregiver support in Spain
Cocemfe, with support from Fundación ONCE, is implementing a multidisciplinary project to improve sociolaboral inclusion of people with disabilities in the Asturias region (Gijón, Oviedo and Avilés). The initiative offers personalized services to boost personal autonomy, develop employability skills, support job placement and retention, and runs awareness campaigns to sensitize the public and businesses.
In the Valencian Community, Cocemfe launched the “Refuerzo” programme, delivering 204 services to 11 participants during the first half of 2026. The programme provides respite and professional support to family caregivers of dependent persons with disabilities, in partnership with the Associació de Malalts i Trasplantats Hepàtics de la Comunitat Valenciana (AETH CV) and Auxilia València. Services include home‑adaptation advice, self‑care workshops, and individual and group psychological support. President María José Martínez said, “without who cares, there is no care.”
