South American regions face Zonda winds, snow, and volcanic activity

Multiple regions in South America are facing severe weather conditions. In Argentina, the National Meteorological Service has raised the alert to orange for the Zonda wind in San Juan, warning of gusts exceeding 90 km/h, sudden temperature increases, and low humidity.

In Bolivia, Cochabamba has experienced snowfall in the Tunari National Park and Andean regions, alongside heavy rains and significant temperature drops. Authorities are monitoring potential impacts on local communities and road conditions.

In Costa Rica, the National Commission for Emergency Prevention and Attention (CNE) has issued a yellow alert for districts near the Rincón de la Vieja volcano. This follows increased eruptive, seismic, and gas emission activity, including over 170 recorded eruptions since July. Residents in Upala and Liberia have been advised to prepare for potential ashfall.
