Cochabamba social organizations warn of military operations against Evo Morales
Social organizations in the Cochabamba Tropics have declared a state of emergency following reports of a planned military and police operation to capture former Bolivian President Evo Morales.
Peasant federations in the region claim the operation may involve the Joint Task Force (FTC), utilizing helicopters and reconnaissance missions to monitor areas where supporters of Morales are concentrated. These allegations surfaced following the circulation of an audio recording, which technical analyses reportedly suggest contains authentic human voices rather than AI-generated content. The recording allegedly features a conversation between Argentine advisor Fernando Cerimedo and Public Works Minister Mauricio Zamora regarding security operations and the use of tracking equipment.
In response, local leaders have threatened to block highways and engage in confrontations if security forces attempt to apprehend Morales. Supporters stated that any action against the former president would be viewed as an attack on the entire coca-growing community in the region.
